1st February, 2010. 11:57 pm.

It was a jammy day today! The kids and I never made it out of our pj's today and it felt great. I have been so tired as of late because my little girl still hasn't figured out how to sleep longer than 3-4hrs. Just when she gives me a night of going 6hrs, she will give me then next nights of only 3-4 hours in between feedings. I still make her go the 5-6hours, but that means I am just up for 2-3 hours in the middle of the night while she is crying and sometimes screaming off and on. I get up and put her pacifier back in and resist the urge to just feed her so we can all get back to sleep. When will she finally get the tough love I am giving her and just sleep? Other than that, she is my little angel! She is such a happy/smiley baby. I am dragging my heels a little on the whole food thing. It is just so much work! I am still doing a bottle of rice cereal/fruit at night and decided to try a lunch time bottle of apple puree with rice cereal. I am using the excuse that since she was 3 weeks early that she is technically not 6 months quite yet. Last week Bailey figured out that she can not only roll from back to tummy, but then back to her back again. She is getting quite wild in the pack-n-play that I am going to have to start thinking about taking out the bassinet. She still doesn't like being on her tummy much, which makes me think that it might be a while yet before she even thinks about crawling. She does sit up pretty well now with the boppy.

Riley boy is still on the go-go-go! With potty training we are still at a stale mate. He knows what he needs to do, but just doesn't care to do it. I will keep at it because I am so tired of changing two poopy butts! I guess that is one good thing about Bailey only pooping once or twice a week. He has turned into a little singer, making up little songs while he plays or singing along with what ever music is playing. It is very cute and I need to catch it on video without him noticing. He has been doing really well, sleeping in his big boy bed. I don't think I am ever going to be able to take the tent down around his bed, he loves his little "house". He stays in bed like he is suppose to and for the most part waits for me to come and get him up.

It is hard to believe that we have been living with Rob's parents for almost two years now! It has gone by faster than I thought it would. We are all still getting along great and enjoying eachother's company. Rob, the kids and I have out own little "apartment" downstairs with privacy and it is nice to have another pair of hands when needed with the kids. I have to say I am still getting use to living out of town. We aren't that far out, but sometimes it feels like it. Well, here are some new pictures of the kiddos!

16th January, 2010. 3:49 pm. My Beautiful Girl!

We had a photo shoot for Bailey on Thursday and took some great pictures of her. It is hard to believe that she is really 6 months old already! I started her on some rice cereal mixed with breast milk and pear juice on Wednesday evening. I am trying to get her use to the feeder bottle and then I will start to add in meal times with purees. Some of her first foods before the rice cereal have been sucking on apple, orange or pineapple slices. I couldn't tell you what her official first food was since daddy has been sneaking her tastes for I don't know how long! The last few days have been spent in the bathroom with Riley using the potty. We have been watching movies, playing with cars and I have had him bottomless so that it would be easy for him to use the potty. He has been going on his own when he needs to pee and we have even had him go poopy a couple of times. Yea! The real test will be when we move out of the bathroom and into big boy pants. We tried it last night and while dad was on duty, he poopied in his training pants and dad had to clean it up. Hehehe! He seems to do better with no pants on. So we will see where it goes from here! Here are the new pictures of the girl!

12th January, 2010. 3:01 pm. Bailey 6 mo/ Riley 2 yrs. 4 mo.

Well, here we are into 2010 already. Where did 2009 go? I am not sure I like how fast time goes now that I have kids. We had a great Christmas season this year with 3 days of Christmas. We celebrated with all the Riley clan (Minus Stace's due to weather) on the 23rd at Kyle's. The kids had a fun time opening presents from Nana and Papa and we all enjoyed the chili for dinner with Mom's carmel rolls. Mmmmmmm.mmmmm....good! Christmas Eve we spent at home with Rob's parents, Tasha and our friends Jason and Charlotte. We had our traditional dinner of Klub and then had a great time opening all of our presents. Christmas morning we got up early and headed out about 6am for Eastern Montana for the Johonson Christmas in Richey and to spend the weekend there. That is my mom's side of the family that gets together everyother Christmas at my Aunt Betty and Uncle Marty's house. The head count on Christmas day was 76. It is amazing that, that many people can fit into one house and it doesn't seem too crowded. Aunt Betty was Super Woman with her trusty sidekick Jen. The meal was amazing and we had so much fun visiting with family, some of whom we haven't seen in over 10yrs. Riley loved all the kids to play with. I didn't have to worry about keeping track of him too much. Rob and I had to laugh because we hardly saw eachother all weekend. I was busy visiting with everyone and he was downstairs in the lazyboy most of the time visiting with the guys or watching TV. We had a great weekend there! There was a big snow storm that weekend there, so traveling around the country side proved interesting! Monday after Christmas we had our second annual trip to the Reef waterpark here in Billings with all the Riley kids. Riley had an even better time this year with all the kids and fun in the water. We were there from 10am to 8pm this year. Long day for Nikki and I, but the kids loved it!

Both of my babies are getting so big! Bailey is 6 months old today. I weighted her this morning and she was 16lbs 6oz. So she seems to be slowing down in the weight gaining. Riley was 28 lbs. I couldn't believe he actually gained a pound. Bailey had reached some great milestones this last month. She decided the week between Christmas and New Years that she could in fact roll over. Before that we had only seen her do it a couple of times. Now anytime you lay her down on her back on the floor, she just rolls right over to her tummy. She only likes being there for a few minutes or so though. She is also sitting up really good. You still have to have something supporting her, but she is doing really well. She loves the jumperoo and her exersaucer. She is still our happy little girl with big smiles except when it is meal time or bedtime, she doesn't mess around and lets you know. She is still not sleeping well at night, but I am hoping with the addition of some real food now that her tummy will be satisfied longer at night. Still no teeth although with the amount of drool she produces you would think something should be coming in. Riley is now our big boy sleeping in a toddler bed for the last two nights. I have a pop up tent set up in his room with his bed inside and he thinks he is pretty hot stuff sleeping in his big boy bed. We are still working on potty training, but so far no success. He is becoming an independent boy going upstairs to find Grammy and Grandpa to "playsiwithme". That is his favorite phrase as of late, as well as, "What you doing?" He loves to be the big helper with putting away laundry, toys or helping build the cabinet for Grammy with Daddy. I don't remember what life was like before kids, but I am sure it wasn't as fun!

17th December, 2009. 11:03 am. Another long week....

I meant to get back on here on Sunday, but Riley got sick and the rest of the week got away from me! First of all, I weighted Bailey on Sunday and she was 16lbs 1oz. So far that is a pound a month. As for Rileyboy, he woke up Sunday morning with a stiff/sore neck and then developed a fever in the afternoon. He wasn't any better on Monday morning so Rob took him in to the Dr. She didn't think it was meningitis, which we were concerned about, but rather an infection in his neck that was effecting his muscles. They prescribed him motrin and tylenol with codeine. He was doing better on Tuesday morning as far as his neck. He was moving his head more, but the fever still wasn't staying down so they Dr. wanted to see him again. He saw a different Dr. and she said it was more than likely a bacterial infection in his aednoids. So she prescribed him an antibiotic and said to keep up with the motrin for the fever and pain. He was even better yesterday as far as moving his neck, but the fever was still up and down all day. Today the fever has stayed down since I gave him motrin at 8pm last night. He is still moving his head a little carefully, but hopefully he will be better by this weekend, once the antibiotic has a chance to work. We hate having to give him an antibiotic, but we want to get rid of the infection. We are giving him lots of yogurt for now and will put him on a probiotic once he is done with the antibiotic. So that has been our week!

12th December, 2009. 10:18 am. Bailey, 5mo./Riley 2 yrs. 3mo.

So I meant to get on here a couple of times this last month and it just didn't happen. Bailey is still our happy little girl. She is a little behind Riley in a couple of things. She has yet to really roll over. She did it once on Monday the 30th from front to back. She is really close to rolling from back to front, but can't quite make it over her arm that gets pinned underneath her. I have lots of pictures of her almost rolling over! Bailey is propping herself up good with her arms when she lays on her tummy. She loves the exersaucer like her big brother did and is still getting use to the jumperoo. She is still my little sleeper during the day. She only stays awake for 1-1.5 hours before she is ready to go back down for a nap. Although her naps sometimes only last an hour or so. Still not sleeping through the night, but that is my fault because I have yet to really let her cry it out. It is just so much easier to get up and feed her quick. She is only up twice though! This last week she has started smacking her lips and pursing them together. My mom thinks maybe she might be teething. She really likes to chew on things. Her coordination is getting better as far as grabbing things she wants to get. She just doesn't always hang on to them as long as she would like. We are still having a problem with her pooping regularly, only once a week and sometimes longer.
Riley boy is still as busy as ever! He loves playing with his cars, read books and this last week has discovered his puzzle boards again. Still no interest in potty training, but I do still take him potty throughout the day. He loves to hold his little sister and will even play cars with her while she is in the exersaucer. He fills the tray up with cars, but isn't so sure he wants her to grab any of them. He is always taking them away from her after she finally picks one up. Very cute! Since he was a baby Rob has done a hawk call to get his attention and now Riley does it back to him. He also uses it to get daddy's or anyonelses attention. It is pretty funny to hear, "Daddy.......raaaaaaaawwwwwk!"

11th November, 2009. 2:55 pm. Updates again!!!

It is amazing to me how busy things are and how fast time is going by now with two kids. I find that I am not taking as many pictures or video of Bailey and Riley for that matter. So here are some updates as Bailey is about to be 4 months old tomorrow. I weighted her a few days ago and she was 15 lbs. This puts her now ahead of where Riley was at that age. That is another pound this month for those of you wondering. She is a very happy little girl for the most part. She is still only pooping once a week or so, but it doesn't seem to bother her much until the last day. She loves to play in the exersaucer and this last week has discovered her hands can pick up or grab at things. Still not much control, but it is so fun to watch her. She loves to take showers with Daddy, as does Riley. This is one of Rob's favorite things and also since we don't have a bathtub, makes bathtime easier for me. Riley still just loves his baths/showers and would stay in there all day I think if I let him. Anytime I decide to take a shower, he has to join me even if he has already just taken one with Daddy. Too funny! Bailey is still a great napper during the day for the most part and we are still working on the nighttime sleeping. I can usually get her to go for a 6 hour stretch every night. She is becoming quite the talker and she even will sing along with you as Grandpa does so often to settle her down. Riley is still my active little 2 year old. His favorite thing is still cars and trucks, with his favorite movie being "Cars". We are now done with the bottle for him. I got rid of it on October 22nd and though he still will ask for it, when I tell him, "No, but you can have milk in a cup" he just says okay. Three of his four teeth he has been working on have now popped through. I told Rob last night that they look like fangs instead of teeth right now. Still slowly working on potty training. I take him regularly throughout the day and hopefully one of these days it will click with him.

As for Rob and I we are doing well. Rob has been working on the chicken coop the last few weeks. We got chicks a week or so ago so the pressure is on to get it done. Riley loves to go out and see the chicks. You just can't let him hold or touch them to much cause his "love" is a little tough for them. I am finally done with the painting project at my parents. Just a couple of doors left that need to be painted, but they might have to wait until the spring. We are still living with Rob's parents, which is going great for those of you wondering. It will be 2 years in February. We are still saving our money with the hope of building our own house out here someday. I didn't ever imagine myself living like this, but it has been great and everyone enjoys eachother. Well, that is an update on the Charette's!

Her is our pretty girl on the 7th. I will have to take some pictures of her and Riley tomorrow to get up on here!

23rd October, 2009. 4:17 pm. Friday at home...

It has been good to be home this week. I finished painting at my parents last weekend and have just spent the week at home with the kids. Bailey is a happy little girl despite the fact that she has taken to pooping every 3-4 days. Yesterday she was definatly uncomfortable and finally she pooped last night after and enima given by daddy. We are going to start giving her a bottle with some Flax oil and digestive enzymes to help move things along. I have started giving her a bottle of breast milk every day to get her use to eating from a bottle too. She loves being talked to and will just coo back at you with big smiles. She thinks Riley is funny and just smiles at him. Today she was in the exersaucer and Riley was playing with his cars on it. She just sat there and smiled at him. She is discovering her hands and was watching as she kept touching one of Riley's cars with her hand. Riley is at such a fun age now! He loves to sit and play with his cars. His favorites being from the Cars movie. He still suprises me every day with what he can say. Last night being the questiong, "What?" after his dad told him to do something. I just laughed at that one as Rob repeated himself. He is still working on his teeth, 4 are coming in at once. They don't seem to bother him too bad other than he has runny poops about 3 times a day. Yuck for me! The joys of motherhood and changing diapers. We are still working on the potty training though. Her are some pictures from this after noon!

Tough love from Riley: A few nights ago Riley was giving Bailey hugs when all the sudden he grabs her around the neck and falls backwards taking Bailey with him because Rob didn't want him to hurt her more. Too much wrestling with daddy I guess. Needless to say Bailey didn't like that!

15th October, 2009. 10:26 pm. An update....

Just a short little update! I weighed Bailey this evening and she is 14lbs 1oz. That is over 1lb since her appt. last month. She also had her first laugh today. Nana was talking to her and making noises and she laughed at her. Very cute! Hopefully we can get it on video sometime soon too!
